What your business needs

Every successful product-based brand has one thing in common that’s integral to success – incredible products, and I want to help you grow what you’ve already achieved in your brand even further.

The grow & scale your business course takes you step-by-step through the key stages of growing your business based on retail expertise and what is working for you!

You will learn to examine what has grown your business so far and how you can use this to take inspired action based on past results. Instead of Googling what has worked for others and wondering why their path isn’t helping you.

Grow & Scale Your Home & Gift Business course

If your plans this year include:

  • Analyse what’s working in your sales
  • Learn who your customer is & what they want to buy
  • Identify why you’re unique to build your brand awareness
  • Get ahead with your content and learn how to launch your products
  • Start a wholesale strategy
  • Sell on other online marketplaces
  • Grow your sales on your own site

Then the Review, Grow & Scale Your Business 8-week course will help you with all of this and more!

Does this journey sound familiar in your business?

  • You started your brand all excited, but you’ve been selling for a while now and you’re still trying to get your head around the business bits. It feels like you’re working backwards to work it out, which gets kinda lonely and you’re not sure who to talk to for advice and support.
  • You feel lost, overwhelmed by everything you need to do and want to have a plan in place so you can move forward without feeling like you’re ‘winging it’.
  • You’d love to know the steps and logistics of developing the new product ideas in your head you haven’t created yet before you talk yourself out of yet another product and it stays as a sketch in your notepad.
  • Self-doubt and decision making is difficult when you’ve got so many ideas for every part of your business, working out what to prioritise first for your brand is tough and becomes overwhelming.
  • There is a disconnect between all your content ideas, what you want to talk to your audience about and how you actually turn this into content for your ideal customer.
  • Your creativity is killed by stress when financial pressure takes over and you freeze instead of moving forward and taking action.
  • You know mindset is important but you don’t prioritise it even though you know it makes running a business easier.

I felt totally overwhelmed with the idea of starting up a business and completely under skilled. I wanted to really make a go of my small business so I knew that I had to be proactive in seeking professional guidance and support. I now feel more focused, more confident and genuinely excited about moving forward with my business. Being walked through how to give language to the brand that I’m creating was fantastic. This is a brilliant starting point for anyone hoping to launch or grow their own small business but doesn’t really have a clue how to do it!
Suzanne, Nice Threads

Things would be easier if you could:

  • Feel more focused, organised and have a clear strategy on how to move forward with confidence.

  • Create a sales plan that would grow your business, based on what is working for your sales and content.
  • Learn how to scale your business with a clear structure and direction based on industry knowledge.
  • Discover who your ideal customer is and how to talk to them about what they want to hear about.
  • Get personalised feedback and be able to ask follow up questions on what you need help with the most.
  • Be supported by an encouraging community of like-minded creative business owners with who you can chat with, bounce ideas off and celebrate your wins.
  • Quieten the negative self-talk and not be easily distracted, so you can get your mind in the right place to succeed.

testimonial
I wasn’t treating my business as a proper ‘business’ as I didn’t have proper plans in place and was really winging it day to day. I wanted to grow my business and learn proper practices from pricing to marketing. I’d seen people rave about Joanne’s services on Instagram and liked that this one was over 6 weeks and included worksheets. I found the worksheets were so helpful each week as I knew exactly what to work on and now have them to look back on. I feel like I have the tools to start growing my business and treating it less like a hobby. I feel more confident and happy with my pricing. I feel less overwhelmed with all the tasks to do as everything has been broken down into more manageable chunks. It was a really well organised and laid out course. Packed full of useful information and content that we can keep using in the future. Jo was so friendly and really knowledgeable and I felt more than comfortable asking questions.

I wanted to learn how to scale my business and make sure I was well rounded in my approach. I have no retail experience and feel like I’m always making it up as I go along, so structure and direction were important to me to learn. My favourite part was digging deep into what my business is all about – distilling keywords, brand purpose etc. I’ve not done an exercise like this before. I feel I have a much better sense of brand now – I actually didn’t have any feeling for it before as I couldn’t distil out what I was. I feel I have a plan for content as well and have written out my content pillars and added in lots of ideas under each one. I am using the content planning spreadsheet and quarterly tabs as well and so I feel organised. I am less overwhelmed as I have scheduled specific large tasks – and so I don’t need to think about them now until that month and so my head is less cluttered. It was really beneficial to me as a small business, I’m one year into my journey, and I now have the clarity of what my brand stands for, how I can grow it, and a plan for the future.

I was overwhelmed by everything I needed to do and I wanted to get a clear strategy for my business. Compared to when I started I’ve got so much more structure to my business and it’s taken out so much of the guesswork! The course was jam-packed with useful information and clear actionable goals to take away and immediately improve your business. And I really liked the mindset meditation in the last week.
– Evie, Create Space
testimonial
I was feeling a little lost and a little frustrated as I had a vision in my head of what I wanted to achieve but didn’t know how to get there or the business knowledge to expand. I wanted to learn how to scale my business and I was looking at setting up another selling platform. I feel like I have more direction and knowledge to help move my small business along. I know it is going to be a marathon, not a race, so I need to use what I’ve learned to slowly build on my goals and vision. I enjoyed creating customer profiles as it was a creative task and anything spreadsheet related. I would recommend this course for anyone who is serious about growing their business and themselves. There were a lot of different areas covered on the course from building a good foundation on how to run a business and keep track of your finances, to understanding your ideal clients, where to find them and how to approach stockists. The course had the right amount of intensity and did require time to really get the most out of it. Joanne was nurturing and made herself regularly available to answer any questions.

I chose the course as I wanted to start working in a more focused, intentional and organised way. My favourite part was the clear, simple advice (with templates) for certain key activity points, Joanne really knows her stuff. I feel I have actionable points I can implement straight away – which I am already using. The difference between this course and just reading books/blogs etc, is that I was motivated to start using many of the techniques/implementing the advice given straight away, instead of sitting with it and it faded into thought without action.
– Sarah, Store Garden
testimonial
I was winging it with my small business and didn’t really know how to move forward and I wanted some guidance on how to move forward with my small business. I feel more focused – I still have a lot of ideas in my head but at least I have a good starting point and I know that I can refer back to the videos and notes if I need to. Week 2 was my favourite week because it made me really sit down and think of what I wanted to do and what area to focus on. I also loved seeing other people’s businesses and getting inspired by them. It’s a great course wherever you are in your business journey. If you are just starting out, it helps you focus on the important things as well as provides the basic blueprint of how to go about it. The course gives you the tools to help you move forward if you’re feeling stuck and re-energises you to continue and not give up!
– March 2021 course attendee
testimonial
I wanted to get a bit more guidance from someone with industry experience as I was a bit unsure of the direction for growth. My favourite part was the first session – the nitty-gritty of sales analysis, there are tonnes of value in it. Compared to when I started the course I feel more confident of my direction – it’s a must for new home and gift businesses!
